PAST INTERNATIONAL PRESIDENT
J. Frank Moore III, of Daleville, Alabama, USA, was elected to serve as international president
of Lions Clubs International at the association’s 84th International Convention in Indianapolis,
Indiana, USA, July 2 through 6, 2001.
Past President Moore is an educator by profession and a former superintendent of education for
the Daleville City Schools in Daleville, Alabama, USA.
Past President Moore has held key leadership positions in Lions International including the
office of Executive Administrator & Secretary of the association from 2017-2021. He served as
chairperson of the Centennial Action Committee which oversaw the four-year celebration of the
association’s first century of service. He also served as LCIF vice chairperson of Campaign
SightFirst II and as vice chairperson of Campaign 100—the most successful fundraising
initiative in the history of the Lions Clubs International Foundation—which raised $326 million
to support our global causes.
Past President Moore has received numerous awards in recognition of his service to the
association, including the Friends of Humanity Award presented by Lions Clubs International
Foundation. He is also a recipient of the Ambassador of Good Will Award—the highest honor
the association bestows upon its members. Past President Moore is an LCIF Humanitarian
Partner.
In addition to his Lions activities, he is active in numerous professional and community
organizations. He is a member of the Army Aviation Museum Foundation Board of Directors,
the Friends of Fort Novosel, a lay speaker in the Methodist Church and treasurer of his church.
He is also a former chief executive officer of the Association of the United States Army.
Past President Moore and wife, Rita, also a Lion and progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, have two
daughters and a son—who also are Lions—and seven grandchildren.
