R. Mathanagopal has been elected to serve a two-year term as a director of Lions
Clubs International at the association’s 105th International Convention, held in
Boston, Massachusetts, USA, July 07 through July 11, 2023.
PMJF LION R. MATHANA GOPAL fondly called as Mathan was born on 19th
August 1963, did his Graduation in chemistry , Post-graduation in Plastic
Technology and Master of Business Administration (MBA) and was an all-rounder
sports person during School and College and participated and won many trophies
in athletics and Hockey and brought many Laurels to his School and College.
LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL
Joined Lions Clubs International during the year 1991 in Lions Club of Coimbatore
Industrial Estate and held various portfolios in club level and district level and
received various awards and distinctions in the District and multiple level.
Elected to serve as District Governor of Lions Clubs International during the year
2010-11 of district 324B1 now 324 C, which comprises of the revenue districts of
Coimbatore, Tirupur and Nilgiris. During his tenure as District governor encouraged
the clubs to implement The “Pure & Safe Drinking Water” Project in 94 Rural Govt.
Schools benefitting around 70,000 students which has provided the rural school
students in getting access to safe drinking water in their schools thereby ensuring
their health and improvement in their academic life.
LEADERSHIP
A core Leadership development trainer - has been a regular faculty in the ELLI,
RLLI , ALLI , FDI and DG / VDG elect schooling . Has so far conducted more than
250 training programs for Lions and trained 10000 plus Lion members. Has been a
faculty and Coordinator for All India DG and VDG elect schooling,
Certified by LCI as an LIONS CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR ( LCIP )
Has also served as Multiple District Sight First Coordinator ( 2011-14 ), The
Associate Editor of LION India magazine( from 2014 -2019 ) and as GLT
Coordinator of MD324 from 2019-2022.
An ardent Orator and motivator, R.Mathanagopal has participated in leadership
programs in various schools and colleges and has been an inspiration to
thousands of students in building their career.
AWARDS AND MERITS FROM LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL
Recipient of International Presidents Leadership Medal four and Presidential
Medal three. International Presidents appreciation Certificate- 13 times. So far
attended 8 Lions International Conventions, and 13 ISAME forums.
FAMILY: Happily married to Thilakavathi, a Diet Councellor and Child birth
educator , blessed with a Son and daughter
PROFESSION: Running an Industry manufacturing Specialty plastic components
and Consultant in property development.
Has been active in various Professional and Social bodies.
